Registration is the start of protection, not the finish line — monitoring the register and market keeps your mark strong.
protection & enforcement
Coming soon — a short walkthrough of this stage.
A registered trademark only holds its value if it is enforced. Active monitoring means watching the register and the wider market for new applications and businesses that clash with your mark — so you can act while you still can.
When someone applies for a similar mark, their application is published for a two-month window before it registers. Monitoring alerts you inside that window, so you can oppose it before it becomes a registered right sitting alongside yours. Miss it, and a look-alike mark can dilute your brand for years.
Monitoring also covers what never shows up on the register at all — companies trading under your name, copycat domains, marketplace listings and social media handles.
Their application is published for two months before it registers — that is your window to object. Monitoring alerts you in time to act; without it, you may only find out once it is too late.
That may be infringement of your registered rights. You can enforce them — typically a cease-and-desist first — but only if you catch it. Monitoring social media, domains and marketplaces is how owners spot it early.
Register “watch” services flag new look-alike applications; you can also monitor company names, domains, marketplaces and social handles. We bundle monitoring into representation from £14/month so you do not have to watch it all yourself.
The register is public, so you will receive official-looking letters and emails about your mark. Most are scams. Do not pay or reply to anything before checking with us — genuine updates appear on your Temmy portal, and we keep a directory of known scams.
We set your application live so you can see exactly where it is, in real time. Need login details? Just ask and we will send you a link.
Includes our Care of Address, which keeps your home address off the public register and cuts scam mail at source.
No obligation. Bring your name, logo or tagline and we will tell you where you stand.
Figures are derived from analysis of the public UK Intellectual Property Office trademark register (applications filed 2015 to 2023, a settled cohort of 1,340,875 marks). They describe the typical journey of a UK trademark application and are for general information — every application is different.
