If the opposition window passes with no objection (or an opposition is successfully defended), your trademark is registered. You receive a registration certificate and your mark is protected for ten years from the filing date.
Across the register, about 93% of all applications ultimately reach registration. You can now use the ® symbol, and you have the legal right to stop others using a confusingly similar mark in your classes.
If you are actively monitoring, you will be alerted while their application is published and can oppose it before it registers. Without monitoring, a confusingly similar mark can slip onto the register and weaken yours.
