A UK trademark registration runs for ten years and can be renewed for further ten-year periods, indefinitely. The IPO will remind you as renewal approaches.
If a registration is not renewed it expires, and after a grace period it is removed from the register (you may see the status shown as “Expired”, “Removed” or “Dead”). A removed mark is no longer protected and the name can become available to others.
