A home textiles brand can reach well beyond one country. Okan Ozevlat came to The Trademark Helpline in 2013 to protect the brand of his company, My Home Textile.
A first UK registration
In August 2013 we filed a UK application for the MyHome Textile logo in four classes:
- Class 3: cosmetics
- Class 23: yarns and threads for textile use
- Class 24: textiles, bed and table covers, duvets, and covers for pillows, cushions and duvets
- Class 35: advertising and business services
It was published at the end of August and registered on 8 November 2013.
Going further with an EU trademark
The following year we protected a second logo, MH MYHOME COUNTRY. This time we filed it as an EU trademark, which gave a single registration covering every EU country, the UK included at that time.
We filed it in June 2014 in the same four classes, and added Class 25 for clothing, footwear, headgear and bathrobes. It was registered on 9 October 2014.

Update, May 2024: renewed in the EU and the UK
When the UK left the EU, every registered EU trademark was given a matching UK registration with the same dates. So MH MYHOME COUNTRY gained a UK twin.
Both registrations were due for renewal in 2024. Okan asked us to renew them, and we renewed the EU trademark and the matching UK registration together. Both now run to June 2034.
